Engineers interested in a taking refresher course on image processing might like to visit a web site called ImageProcessingBasics.com, which has a collection of informative and interactive Java applets that explain many basic concepts.
Each applet is accompanied by a short tutorial explaining the underlying theory it is trying to convey.
The applets were originally developed for use as support material for an introductory course on image processing. The applets have been placed on the web site under an agreement that the material is available for free. More applets and tutorials will be ported and made available as soon as possible.
The site's developers hope that the site and its applets will be used for educational or academic purposes.
To be able to use the interactive programs on the site, you need to have Java installed. If you do not have it installed already, it is freely available at java.com for most operating systems, including Linux, Mac, and Windows.
