At VISION 2018 in Stuttgart, Germany; Active Silicon will showcase its FireBird Single CoaXPress Low Profile frame grabber (1xCXP6-2PE4L), which was released as a cost-effective imagingboard. Featuring a single CoaXPress that supports up to a 6.25 Gbps data rate, the frame grabber offers a low-profile design that allows the board—a 4-lane Gen2 PCI Express board—to be used in small 2U enclosures. Additionally, the new GenICam-compliant frame grabber is designed with Active Silicon’s proprietary DMA engine technology, “ActiveDMA,” which applies RISC-based processor techniques and guarantees zero CPU usage, enabling high speed and low latency image data transfers, according to Active Silicon.
