High speed camera series features custom 3.2 MPixel image sensor

Three new models in the i-SPEED 7 series are designed primarily for scientific testing applications.

Three new models in iX Camera’s i-SPEED 7 high-speed camera series, the 717, 721, and 727 models, feature the Advanced Sensor Technology (AST) CMOS 3.2 MPixel image sensor, developed by engineers at iX Cameras. The AST features 2072 x 1536 resolution, 12-bit dynamic range, 2.45M fps at maximum speed, 13.5 µm pixel, 27.1 GPix/s throughput, and 168 ns shutter time.

An electromagnetic shutter for automatic black level correction is also included with the three new i-SPEED 7 camera models. According to the manufacturer, the cameras are designed with fluid dynamics, ballistics, and other scientific testing applications.
