OmniVision releases new 1 MPixel image sensor for automotive applications

OmniVision has announced the release of the OV9284 1 MPixel global shutter image sensor, developed for in-cabin camera modules in passenger vehicles for applications such as driver state monitoring.

OmniVision has announced the release of the OV9284 1 MPixel global shutter image sensor, developed for in-cabin camera modules in passenger vehicles for applications such as driver state monitoring.

The OV9284 provides 1280 x 800 up to 120 fps. The sensor has a 12% NIR quantum efficiency at 940 nm and consumes 90 mW of power at 60 fps. It comes in a 5237 µm x 4463 µm chip-scale package and has a 27-degree chief ray angle with a low z height requirement.
