Designed for use in applications including hyperspectral imaging, astronomy, and quantum imaging, the KURO 2048B from Princeton Instruments features a scientific CMOS (sCMOS) image sensor. The sensor is a 2048 x 2048 sensor with an 11 µm pixel size that can achieve a frame rate of 47 fps at 12 bits and 23 fps at 16 bits, with the ability to reach more than 3,000 fps in reduced resolution. The camera features a USB 3.0 interface, 95% quantum efficiency (QE) in mid-range visible as well as 80% peak QE in ultraviolet. Additionally, the camera features as full well specification of 80,000 electrons as well as ultra-low read noise of 1.3 e- rms median.
