Visual acuity tests

May 17, 2013

EyeNetra’s NETRA-G mobile visual acuity test connects to a smartphone to conduct an eyeglasses exam that tests for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. The NETRA tool is a small plastic eyepiece that is clipped to the front of the smartphone and allows the user to look at the LCD screen through the eyepiece to see parallel lines. The patient then presses the device’s arrow keys until the lines overlap. The process is repeated a few times. In less than two minutes, the software app provides data for prescription eyeglasses.
