FEBRUARY 26--To provide more comprehensive and localized support to its growing Latin American customer base, Fujinon (Wayne, NJ; www.fujinonbroadcast.com) will open a Miami, FL, office, effective March 1. Supervising the new Miami office will be the company's manager of sales and service for Latin American, Yukio Ito, a Fujinon veteran with 23 years of experience with the company. He was previously based in Fujinon's New Jersey headquarters.

Ito graduated as an electronics engineer in Japan and came to Fujinon in 1980 to work as a product engineer, first within North America and later with the existing sales team focusing on South America. Since then he has learned the South American market's unique needs and been a valuable part of Fujinon's successes there.

"The Latin American market is similar in many ways to North America, where I spent a number of years serving a range of customers, but it needs a special focus that Fujinon continues to provide," Ito said. "I look forward to being in much closer contact with my customers from our new Miami locale. Our Latin American clientele require the highest level of service and support and the highest quality lenses. I'm confident our close proximity to our customers there will strengthen existing relationships and create new opportunities."

Fujinon is a manufacturer and distributor of optics and lens assemblies for the broadcast, digital cinema, and industrial markets. The company's line of television zoom lenses are used in the broadcast industry, including electronic newsgathering, studio and field production, and high-definition television.
