1394 Trade Association names Dave Sroka and Brian Eble to marketing posts

JANUARY 29--The 1394 Trade Association (www.1394ta.org/) named David Sroka of Philips Semiconductors as its new marketing chairman and Brian Eble as the association's new director of marketing and communications.

JANUARY 29--The 1394 Trade Association--a 170-member, worldwide organization dedicated to the advancement of the IEEE 1394 multimedia standard, also known as FireWire and i.LINK (www.1394ta.org/)--named David Sroka of Philips Semiconductors as its new marketing chairman and Brian Eble as the association's new director of marketing and communications.

Sroka is a member of the Trade Association's board of directors. He serves as North American marketing manager for wired connectivity at Philips Semiconductors in Albuquerque, NM, where he has been employed for the past nine years. He has a total of 17 years in the electronics industry, with broad engineering and marketing experience in ASICs, FPGAs, wired connectivity, and multimedia products.

Eble joins the Trade Association in a newly created post from Molex Incorporated, where he was employed for more than 12 years in a wide range of marketing and communications posts, most recently as manager of corporate communications. He will be responsible for all marketing, including brand development, trade-show management, the association's Web sites, advertising, and communications. He reports to James Snider, the executive director.
