A San Francisco company called QuiQui has been developing the idea of using UAVs to delivery drugstore items in The Mission area of the city for years. Now, following the announcement that UAVs are (currently) legal, QuiQui plans to develope three to four drones and launch the delivery service by July. Instead of the UAVs landing on a doorstep and potentially bumping into people, cars, or other objects, the UAV will stay 20 feet in the air and will send a signal to your phone letting you know when your delivery has arrived. From there the user will "swipe" in the smartphone app and tell it to drop the order, and the UAV will fly away. Read more here.
