JENOPTIK Eyelike digital camera back to incorporate DALSA FTF 4052C CCD image sensor
NOVEMBER 19--DALSA Corporation (Waterloo, ON, Canada; www.dalsa.com) has announced a new major customer for its FTF 4052C, 22 million-pixel CCD image sensor chip. JENOPTIK Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH (Jena, Germany; www.jenoptik-los.com), a producer of digital camera backs for commercial and studio photography, recently selected the DALSA image sensor for use in its Eyelike precision M22 digital camera back.
A growing number of commercial and studio photographers are replacing the film magazine in their medium- and large-format cameras with a "digital camera back" that captures images using an electronic image sensor in place of traditional film. The JENOPTIK Eyelike digital camera back is the latest professional digital camera product to incorporate the DALSA 22 million-pixel chip. Previous and current versions of the JENOPTIK's Eyelike camera back have integrated DALSA's 6 million- and 11 million-pixel image sensors.
The FTF 4052C image chip, which has a resolution of 5344 x 4008 pixels, was designed by DALSA's Professional Imaging Group in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The chip offers good color reproduction, fast speed of capture, low power consumption, and high sensitivity to low light levels.
