UKIVA seminars shed light on image processing
Visitors to the October Photonex Exhibition at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK will be able to attend a free series of seminars run by the UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA; Wallington, UK).
Entitled “Vision And Imaging Technology Demystifed,” the series of seminars will concentrate on the many facets of lighting and its applications toindustrial imaging.
With many of the talks featuring live demonstrations, the seminars cover topics ranging fromhyperspectral imaging to the use of structured light lasers for profile assessment.
Other talks include a review ofultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) imaging and their associated camera technologies, and an overview of the challenges faced in getting the optimum illumination conditions for a wide range of machine-vision applications.
With 3-D imaging becoming increasingly important in industrial vision, other talks will cover sheet-of-light illumination for 3-D imaging together with 3-D software tools, and some practical applications ofstereo vision in robotics.
The seminar program will run on Oct.18 and 19, commencing at 10:30 am, with the last presentation starting at 3:00 pm.
The talks will be given by presenters from Gilden Photonics (Glasgow, Scotland), Alrad Imaging (Newbury, UK), Stemmer Imaging (Tongham, UK), Leuze Electronic (St. Neots, UK), Multipix Imaging (Petersfield, UK) and Scorpion Vision (Lymington, UK)
All talks are free to attend, but pre-registration will secure a CD containing PDF copies of all of the presentations. Visitors can pre-register by e-mailing [email protected]. A full program can be found on theUKIVA web site.
