First Sensor has released two models in its new Blue Eagle camera line, both of which are designed for use in harsh environmental requirements, including automotive and mobile OEM applications. One of the new Blue Eagle models features a 1 MPixel OV10635 CMOS image sensor from OmniVision that has a 4.2 µm x 4.2 µm pixel size. The other new camera features a 1.2 MPixel AR0132AT CMOS image sensor image from Aptina that has a 3.75 µm x 3.75 µm pixel size. Both models achieve a frame rate of 30 fps and feature a two-wire Ethernet interface and power via Power over Ethernet, Power over APIX, or Power over Coax, in addition to standard DC power supply. In addition, the cameras feature IP68/IP6k9k housings and an operating temperature range of -40°F to 203°F. These cameras are suitable for use in automotive, agricultural equipment, and mining applications.
