The outdoorScan 3 safety laser scanner from SICK is designed to operate outdoors and maintain reliability in harsh weather conditions. The company’s outdoor safeHDDM scan technology is designed to differentiate between genuine safety risks and interfering environmental influences.

According to the company, scanner performance is maintained in sun beams up to 40,000 lux, rain and snow are filtered by high-precision measurement data, and fog is detected and causes a safe stop at visual range below 50 m.

Featuring 8 simultaneous protective fields, and 128 fields that can each be configured with individual settings, the outdoorScan 3 meets ISO 13849 and IEC 62998 standards.
