[Page 2] VISION 2014 spotlight: New VISION 4 Automation initiative announced

Sept. 19, 2014
In order to address the challenges that using machine vision technology in automation environments creates for integrators and engineers, Messe Stuttgart has announced that VISION 2014 has identified "VISION 4 Automation" as a key initiative of the trade fair.

Additional events and focus areas of the VISION 4 Automation initiative include:

IPC 4 VISION

VISION 2014 will feature a special stand "IPC 4 VISION" in which industrial PCs and embedded platforms will be showcased. "The IPC is an important topic at the leading international trade fair VISION," Florian Niethammer, Project Manager of VISION said. "However, to date the IPC manufacturers were under-represented. We want to change this with the special stand 'IPC 4 VISION'. IPC 4 VISION will be positioned within the entrance area of Hall 1 of the show, where IPC exhibitors will tout the advantages and capabilities of some of the latest computers used in the machine vision industry.

Inspect Application Forum

The "Inspect Application Forum," will provide a forum for potential users of machine vision technologies to link with the system and solution providers most suited to them. Florian Niethammer, Project Manager for VISION, Messe Stuttgart explains that the forum will target both providers of machine vision solutions and components, as well as potential end users. The forum will provide information on the specific requirements for one to two different machine vision applications per day.

Expanded Integration Area

System integrators and providers demonstrating their latest machine vision solutions in the Integration Area will have an increased space to do so, as Messe Stuttgart has announced an expansion of the area. This announcement came as a result of increased interest in the area, as well as new exhibitors such as Italy’s von Euclid Labs, which for the first time, will showcase its robot solution for picking up unsorted parts, and how that can improve the performance of production machines and processes.
