The Smart-VS smart camera from Datalogic is designed for object detection and classification applications in processing and packaging operations for the food and beverage and pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. The camera is designed for flexibility, however, and according to the manufacturer may also be used for transportation, automotive quality inspection, and sorting and handling applications, among others.
A 320 x 240 resolution image sensor with 7 mm lens and 4 white LED polarized illuminators are encased in an IP65 or IP67 housing, with green and red LEDs to designate good or no good inspection results respectively. The camera has an operating distance between 50 and 150 mm, a 19° view angle, 22 (H) x 16 mm (V) FOV at 50 mm distance and 55 (H) x 41 mm (V) FOV at 150 mm distance, and Ethernet interface.
Proprietary setup software is designed to eliminate the need for special training or installation expertise. A graphic user interface provides real time statistics on inspection results, and smart functions such as job data bank and detection with multiple images.
